The Kia Sonet SUV concept was introduced at the Auto Expo in early February this year. This new SUV is coming in competition with vehicles like Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue and Tata Nexon. Kia Motors says that many such features will be available in the sonnet, which has not yet been given in any other car in this segment.
Kia Motors India has released official pictures of its upcoming sub-compact SUV Sonet. These sketches (photographs) give a glimpse of the exterior and interior of the Kia Sonet. Sonet SUV will be introduced on 7 August. The company says that its new SUV will come with superb design and many first-in-segment (first in this segment car) features.
The front of the sonnet SUV will get Kia's signature 'Tiger Nose' grille, LED DRL, LED headlamp, and sporty front bumpers. In the new photos, it features a black roof, silver roof rails, alloy wheels with heavy wheel arches, LED taillamps, LED stop light strips connecting taillamps, and a large silver fox skid plate.
The Kia sonnet will feature a 10.25-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system with UVO connected car technology, the first for any car in the segment. High-quality materials have been used for the dashboard. It gets 3-spoke steering wheels, digital instrument cluster, vertical air-con vents with thick silver bezels, and silver bezels around the gear lever.
Features
Talking about the features, this small SUV from Kia is expected to get features such as Bose sound system, wireless charging, sunroof, air-purifier, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, push-button start-stop, and a 360-degree camera. Apart from these, the Sonnet SUV will get many great safety features including 6-airbags.
The engine
Kia Motors has not yet shared information about the engine option of the Sonnet SUV. Its engines are expected to be sourced from Hyundai's Venue SUV. These include 1.2-liter naturally-aspirated petrol, 1.5-liter diesel, and 1.0-liter GDi turbo-petrol engines. The SUV will get a 6-speed manual, 7-speed DCT automatic, and clutch-less IMT gearbox options.
