A big deal has come to light on the corona vaccine being developed by Oxford University in London and the Serum Institute of India (SII). Licenses for the vaccine will then be obtained from the World Health Organization (WHO). Keep in mind that the corona vaccine produced at the Serum Institute is named Covishield. The company has tied up with Novavax Inc, an American company that developed the vaccine, on July 30 to supply the vaccine.
Serum Two Great Deals
The serum has signed major deals with The Vaccine Alliance (GAVI) and The Bill and Milinda Gates Foundation to produce the Corona vaccine. This deal will increase the Serum Institute's ability to make the Corona vaccine and will be able to produce more vaccines faster. The company is making arrangements to provide 100 million doses of vaccine immediately in India as well as some low and middle-income countries. After the deal, the Gates Foundation will fund $ 150 million (about Rs 1,125 crore) in risk funding to GAVI. This means that if the vaccine failed in the last stage, then the cost of the vaccine made by then will be borne by GAVI.
