The first phase trial of ICMR and Bharat Biotech's Covid-19 indigenous vaccine has been stopped at AIIMS. Only 16 volunteers were vaccinated at AIIMS. With this, the goal of the trial of the first phase was achieved. A total of 100 people were to be vaccinated at AIIMS.
In the first phase, 16 people who were given the first dose of the vaccine have started being given the second dose. On Friday, a volunteer was awarded the second dose. On July 24, a 30-year-old boy was vaccinated at AIIMS. According to the program of this vaccine, the second dose was to be given after 14 days, which was given on 7 August. A doctor associated with vaccination said that now gradually other people will be given a second dose. People will be given a second dose as they complete 14 days.
Sources say that out of a total of 375 people in Phase One trial, 100 were to be tried in AIIMS. AIIMS formed the Ethics Committee for the trial, which was to be supervised. On 18 July it was approved to start vaccination. The private lab was given the responsibility for lab testing so that the trial is expedited. Sources said that the pace of AIIMS was so slow in this trial that the target of the trial in the rest of the state institute and medical college was met. The first phase trial in AIIMS has now stopped.
